アルバム紹介
Wind & Reed （風, 琴）は、空気を通して音を出す2つの楽器、韓国の笙簧（センガン）（著名な演奏家キム・ヒョヨン氏演奏）と、世界的なオルガニストシン・ドンイル氏が演奏するパイプオルガンを融合させたものです。タイトルPung, Geumは、この共通の原理を反映しており、「風」の字（風）と、東アジアで弦楽器や楽器を指すために歴史的に使用されてきた伝統的な字「琴」を組み合わせています。
このアルバムには、韓国の作曲家による現代作品に加え、韓国の民謡Bird, Bird, Bluebird（セヤ、セヤ）や、愛されている童謡Island Baby（ソムジプ・アギ）の創造的なアレンジが収録されています。東洋と西洋の融合、笙簧とオルガンという、長くも異なる伝統を持つ2つの楽器が、懐かしさと文化的共鳴に満ちた調和のとれたサウンドスケープを提供します。
録音は、コンサート用パイプオルガンがある仁川のエリムアートセンターで行われ、2つの楽器の完璧な音響バランスを捉えました。セッションは、グラミー賞受賞歴のあるSoundmirror Koreaのファン・ビョンジュン氏が担当しました。
リリース後、2022年1月7日にエリムアートセンターでプロモーションコンサートが開催され、その後、2022年5月には台湾ツアー、2023年2月9日にはパリのラジオ・フランスで特別リサイタルが開催されました。
プロジェクトの背景
Wind & Reedのコンセプトは、作曲家集団Music Todayが共同で主催し、ソウルのキョンド教会で開催された2018年のコンサートPipeから生まれました。

アーティスト紹介
キム・ヒョヨン – 生簧（センファン）
キム・ヒョヨンは、韓国を代表するセンファン奏者です。センファンとは、神秘的で古代の韓国のフリーリード式マウスオルガンのことです。彼女は演奏と作曲を通して、この珍しい楽器を復活させ、現代化し、現代音楽において新たな注目を集めています。
演奏家としての芸術性に加え、伝統の枠を超えた冒険的な異ジャンルとのコラボレーションや作曲でも評価されています。彼女は、New Rising Female Artist Award（ソウル新聞、2013年）とKBS Traditional Music Awards（2015年）で管楽器部門大賞を受賞しています。
彼女の国際的なキャリアには、パリのシテ・デ・ザールでのレジデンス（2014年）や、フランクフルト韓国音楽祭（2016年、2017年）での演奏への招待などがあります。彼女のソロリサイタルDreaming of Saint-Saëns（2017年）は、尹伊桑（ユン・イサン）の作品を再解釈したもので、その年の後半に尹伊桑記念館のリニューアルオープンでも取り上げられました。

現在、淑明女子大学大学院で非常勤教授として教鞭を執っています。
シン・ドンイル – パイプオルガン
国際的なメディアから「同世代で最も優れたオルガニストの一人」（Echo Républicain、フランス）および「注目すべき若手音楽家」（La Marseillaise、フランス）と称賛されているシン・ドンイルは、「驚くべきテクニック、感受性、芸術性」（ABC、スペイン）で賞賛されています。彼の演奏は、「優雅で、自信に満ち溢れ、表現力豊か」（ダラス・モーニング・ニュース、アメリカ）および「年間最高のクラシックコンサートの一つ」（Star-Telegram、アメリカ）と評されています。
Grand Prix de Chartres International Organ Competitionの受賞者であるシンは、数々の賞を受賞し、ヨーロッパ、アメリカ、アジア、オセアニア、アフリカで幅広く演奏しています。
彼は11歳で釜山フィルハーモニー管弦楽団と共演し、モーツァルトのピアノ協奏曲第20番を演奏してデビューを果たしました。13歳で趙善友教授にオルガンを師事し、後に延世大学校教会音楽科を郭東淳教授のもとで卒業しました。その後、リヨン国立高等音楽院とパリ国立高等音楽院でジャン・ボワイエ、オリヴィエ・ラトリ、マリー＝クレール・アランに師事し、さらに高度な研究を続けました。
現在、申氏は延世大学校教会音楽科の教授および延世大学校教会のオルガニストを務めています。

However, as Kim Hyo-young expertly played the saenghwang alongside Shin Dong-il’s rich harmonies on the pipe organ, any doubts dissipated. Each note felt like an embodiment of wind swirling through space, awakening my senses to their ancient dialogue. Particularly striking was their arrangement of ‘Bird, Bird, Bluebird’, which seemed to transform simplicity into something profoundly resonant—a celebration of both heritage and innovation within melodies. Truly captivating.
