Lee shin Workshop’s Ottchil spoons are domestically produced. They select only good wood with fine wood grain and high ottchil absorption rate, and repeat ottchiling and water sanding more than 7 times, so the surface is smooth and can be used safely without worrying about environmental hormones. (Do not confuse it with Kashchil, which contains formalin, a class 1 carcinogen!)
This product is made even more meticulously because it is the most basic design that requires focusing on small details such as head size, sharp joints, body shape and center of gravity designed for ergonomics. In particular, in the case of ‘Lee Shindal Spoon Jin’, charcoal and ottchil powder were applied to the handle to maximize antibacterial and dehumidifying effects.
When refined lacquer is mixed with iron oxide, it turns black like finely ground ink, which is called refined black lacquer. ‘Isindal Spoon Go’ is a product made by spraying water on a product coated with refined black lacquer and then finishing it with lacquer so that the grain of the wood subtly shows through. It feels heavy at first, but you can enjoy the wood grain becoming brighter over time.
For your information, the reason why a product becomes brighter over time is not because it is worn or the ottchil peels off, but because of the natural characteristics of the ottchil, which is also called ‘Ottchil blooming’. You can use a properly made ottchil spoon with peace of mind as its antibacterial effect is so strong that it can prevent cavities just by holding it in your mouth.
1. Because natural paints are used, no harmful ingredients such as heavy metals, carcinogens, or environmental hormones are detected.
2. Ottchilized items are 99.9% antibacterial, eliminating toxins, preventing bacterial growth, and eliminating mold.
3. It secures/protects wood’s vulnerability to water and moisture through its moisture-proof and waterproof properties.

*How do I care for Ottchil spoons?
1. Be sure to wash with sufficient foam on a soft material (hand-knitted scrubber, dishtowel, etc.).
2. Due to the nature of the wood material, deformation may occur if immersed in water for a long time.
3. Please refrain from using the dishwasher and microwave oven. Warping and Ottchil may come off.
