Description
Dark Revelations at Axiax Castle
In the gripping fifth volume of “Like the Wind on a Dry Branch,” the story deepens with unexpected twists and harrowing discoveries that challenge the very fabric of the characters’ beliefs and the world they inhabit.
Unveiling the Hidden
As the plot unfolds, Rietta and Killian, driven by ominous sensations, venture to Axiax Castle after a troubling encounter. There, to their horror, they witness Saint Tania, a revered figure known for her sanctity, engaging in dark rituals and summoning a demon named Merdes. This shocking revelation raises urgent questions about her intentions and the true source of the plague that has been devastating their land.
Interwoven Secrets and Tragedy
The narrative skillfully reveals the intricate web of secrets each character harbors. Tania, once seen as a paragon of virtue, is now implicated in dire machinations involving demonic powers. Meanwhile, Irene’s desperate attempts to capture Killian’s heart inadvertently contribute to the plague’s spread, adding layers of unintended tragedy and complexity to the story.
Contrasting Paths
The author portrays Irene as a tragic figure, whose life of sacrifices starkly contrasts with Rietta’s gradual ascendancy from her own ruins. This juxtaposition offers a rich exploration of their characters, making it difficult for readers to simply categorize their actions as right or wrong, but instead, drawing them deeper into the emotional and moral dilemmas faced by both.
Looming Mysteries and Connections
The volume also teases out the mysterious ties between Rietta and the Kingdom of Lamenta, known for its ancestral command over demons. This connection, alongside the unfolding secrets about Rietta’s unique abilities, sets the stage for future revelations and challenges that may either unite Rietta and Killian or become an insurmountable barrier between them.
Expanding Horizons
As the narrative expands beyond the initial confrontation between Killian and the Empress, new beginnings and narrative branches emerge, enriching the storyline and its world. This volume promises a complex tale of love, betrayal, and redemption, as Rietta and Killian navigate the treacherous waters of their destiny together.
“Like the Wind on a Dry Branch” continues to captivate its audience with a meticulously crafted world and emotionally charged storytelling, promising more intrigue, heartbreak, and revelations in the journey of Rietta and Killian. Will their bond be strong enough to withstand the storms ahead? Volume 5 invites readers to discover the fate of these deeply intertwined souls.

Boken var ganska spännande, många oväntade vändningar. En del karaktärer är lite tröga i början. Gillar hur storyn flätar ihop hemligheter. Tyckte dock att några scener kunde ha utvecklats mer.

Got this book as a gift. It’s dark but really interesting. The characters are more complex than I thought they’d be. My only issue is the shipping; it was slower than expected.

Beneath the vibrant horror of Axiax Castle lies a mirror reflecting humanity’s shadow. Each discovery flips morality on its head—do good intentions always yield just outcomes? Rietta’s poignant realization stings as loyalties clash under Merdes’ influence, revealing corruption concealed beneath reverence.
