Description
Korean Traditional Jeonju Hapjukseon Bamboo Fan
Experience the artistry and heritage of the Jeonju Hapjukseon, a traditional Korean folding fan handcrafted by White-clad People’s Workshop. These fans continue the legacy of Jeonju fans, which were once esteemed tribute items presented to the kings of the Joseon Dynasty. Each fan is meticulously made using Korean bamboo for the ribs, providing a sturdy and durable structure that ensures long-lasting use.
The fan surface is crafted from premium Jeonju Hanji, a traditional Korean paper renowned for its robust texture and exceptional longevity. Designs are vividly printed on the Hanji, capturing the look and feel of hand-painted artwork. The fan features classic motifs such as plum blossoms and pine trees with magpies, reflecting the elegance and dignity of Korean cultural heritage.
The Jeonju Hapjukseon is not only a functional accessory for cooling and sun protection but also serves as a refined interior decor piece or a meaningful collectible. Historically, these fans symbolized the sophistication of scholars and the gentry, and were even used for self-defense.
