Multicultural Family Korean Language Textbook
This book is a product of the 2017 Multicultural Family Textbook Development Project, initiated by the National Institute of the Korean Language. It’s tailored to aid members of multicultural families in acquiring proficiency in both spoken and written Korean, deeply rooted in an understanding of Korean culture. This resource is designed to empower learners to shift from a passive role in adapting to Korean society to an active one in leading and shaping it.

The development of this book reflects the significant increase in international exchanges and the growing number of foreigners settling in Korea. It highlights Korea’s transition into a multicultural society, where immigrants, their Korean spouses, and their children are becoming integral parts of the community, thereby raising Korea’s international stature.
This edition, a revision of “Korean with Marriage Immigrants” published in 2010, is divided into two volumes with distinct focuses. “Enjoyable Korean for Multicultural Families” emphasizes task activities for spoken language, while “Accurate Korean for Multicultural Families” concentrates on written forms. The integration of these two aspects aims to achieve fluency and accuracy in Korean language learning. The book encourages all members of multicultural families to diligently study Korean language and culture, to become successful members of Korean society.
