How come they're not filming a movie here, but they're serving food to people they don't even know. Barley somehow remembered an old story that remained in his memory. Stories like that when a shabby stranger was treated hospitably at home, he was actually a god or a member of the royal family, so that indescribable rewards came later.

2021 SF Awards Excellence Award for Intermediate Shorts and Han Nakwon Science Fiction Award
2022 Yes24 Readers Selection ‘Young Writers Who Will Be the Future of Korean Literature’
The most anticipated writer right now, the first full-length novel published in the summer!
His first collection of novels, 『Lician Shiusu』, introduced science fiction born out of everyday life, and the first full-length novel, 『Speed, Roll, Action!』, was published. The writer, who captures the marginalized underdog with a unique warm and thoughtful gaze, received rave reviews as “a work like an example of criticism of reality that can only be done in SF” (Judge Chairman Hanna-Ri Koo) and won the 2021 SF Award for Intermediate Short Film Excellence Award. In the same year, the writer won the Hannakwon Science Literature Award, given to children's and youth science fiction short stories, and was once again recognized for his soft yet upright novel world. Along with the even support of the critics, Yeon Yeo-reum became the most anticipated writer at the moment as he was selected as the 'young writer who will become the future of Korean literature' by the readers of Yes24 the following year.
But above all, the reason why this writer is expected is because of his trustworthy stance on novels. As revealed in an interview, “I like stories in which our weak positions are entangled and create a dense net” (Golden Branch, during '[People of Genre] Interview'), the writer uses the weak beings and their entanglement as the basis of the story. is centered In reality, absurdly good things don't happen very often, so there may be people who want to get such pleasure from novels, but the writer puts his whole heart into things that are small but have a clear texture. Maybe it's because I'm well aware of the possibilities that a tiny change can bring.
“How about living now as an exciting running time?”
After this time we will part,
Instead of mourning ahead of time, let's all sit around the table!
In a lonely December with no expectations for the New Year, the story begins in Mimi Snack, which was once a restaurant and is now a movie set. Bori, the director, is staying here and eagerly waiting for his friend. Originally, Bori, who was working in the hospital administration department of a hospital specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, had no choice but to resign due to financial difficulties caused by the declining birth rate, and decided to take this opportunity to film the movie she had dreamed of. From the scenario he wrote himself, the perfect location, and the production cost raised with severance pay and funding, the dream seemed to come true soon. Until the friend who awakened that dream disappeared with the production cost.
Why do people who eagerly wait do not come, but only the wrong people come? A girl, claiming to be the owner's granddaughter, pushes into the snack bar. The girl, whose name is Yul in her third year of study, is reluctant, saying that since it is her grandmother's anniversary, she will stay for a few days to reminisce. As if she is used to it, she opens the cupboard and takes out her ramen, and Bori is helpless when Yul goes upstairs to take a nap. Above all, Yul could turn on the commercial gas stove, which Barley couldn't even touch, and cook ramen. Bori accepts to live with Yul because she doesn't want to eat cup noodles anymore.
Around the time you get used to life with Yul, Sang-eun, a man in a shabby suit, appears in Mimi Snacks. He reveals that he seems to have slipped out of time, and that he is from September 27, 1998. Barley, who works at the Department of Commerce and realizes that sympathizing with absurd stories will not help solve the problem at all, so he overhears his words and wants to send him out. A time traveler, does that even make sense? However, Bori changes her mind after seeing Na Na Sang-eun's hand, saying that he worked at a restaurant in a tourist hotel until he was fired due to the IMF crisis. The taste of the warm tomato soup, which was not on the menu of <Mimi Bunsik>, was too touching.
A few days later, a third guest appears. He has a gender-indeterminate appearance and is dressed differently from today, like an actor who left the set of a period drama or fantasy movie. What would he be doing? Where did he come from? Bori joins forces with Yul and Sang-eun to carry the collapsed man to his room, and feeds him with finely ground white porridge and medicine.
How the hell is it that I'm not filming a movie here, but I'm eating with people I don't even know? The time at Mimi Snack, which was rented as a filming location for a month, is passing towards the end, and the new year will soon come. Work and dreams come to a halt, and Barley's winter is filled with warm meals shared with suspicious people... …
