Semantic Error segue a história de Chu Sang-Woo, um estudante de ciência da computação, que é um indivíduo rígido e estritamente obediente às regras. Ao colaborar em um projeto em grupo com colegas não cooperativos do departamento de artes liberais, Sang-Woo decide excluir seus nomes da apresentação final. No entanto, ele não previu o emaranhado inesperado que ocorre com Jang Jae-Young, a estrela do campus do Departamento de Design cujos planos de estudar no exterior são prejudicados pelo projeto.
