IU, who charmed the world with "Good Day" last year, returns with her new album [Last Fantasy]. This is her second full-length album, released two years after her debut album [Growing Up]. The album was executive produced by Cho Young-cheol, the mastermind behind the 'IU syndrome' of the previous year. Cho Young-cheol aimed to showcase IU's musical versatility in this release.

Album Concept

The title [Last Fantasy] reflects IU's transition from the final moments of her teenage years to the dawn of her twenties. The album encapsulates her thoughts, imaginations, and dreams during this pivotal time, offering a heartfelt message to her fans. It expresses a range of emotions and artistic growth through its diverse tracks.

Star-Studded Collaboration

This album features 13 tracks and boasts collaborations with some of Korea's most esteemed musicians and composers. Contributors include Kim Kwang-jin, Yoon Sang, Jeong Jae-hyung, Lee Juk, Kim Hyeong-seok, Jeong Seok-won, Kim Hyun-cheol, Yoon Jong-shin, Lee Min-soo, Corinne Bailey Rae, G.Gorilla, and Ra.D. Their involvement has enriched the album with a variety of musical styles and influences.

Title Track: "You and I"

The title song, "You and I," is a collaboration between composer Lee Min-soo and lyricist Kim Ea-na, the duo behind IU's hit "Good Day." This track highlights IU's unique sensibility and enhanced musicality. "You and I" features IU's enchanting vocals in a narrative about a young girl traveling through time to meet her future self. The song's arrangement, which transitions between minor and major chords, incorporates real instruments like the harp and horn, providing a fantastical and diverse soundscape.
