Design Meaning
The Irwolobongdo depicts five mountain peaks with the sun and moon on either side, symbolizing the king and queen, eternal prosperity, and the harmony of the universe. This sacred imagery was exclusively used in royal court settings during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897).
