Album introduction

It's time for Seventeen's energy to explode again...a masterpiece of conversion! 10th mini album [FML]
The frustration you feel right now is OK! But don’t be pessimistic about your life!
SEVENTEEN, full of healthy energy, confidently presents their first double title song!
Seventeen, the ‘new hero’ who never gives up... Armed with positive energy! Bringing comfort and hope through music

Once again, Seventeen, the 'K-pop absolute powerhouse' who chose to run without stopping, returned as a healthier youth with their 10th mini album [FML].

Following last year's 4th full-length album 'Face the Sun', which honestly expressed the ambition to become a being like the 'sun' that has a unique and enormous influence on the world, this 4th full-length album contains the new world of their own found after a passionate journey to become the sun. SEVENTEEN continued to break domestic and global records with their repackage album 'SECTOR 17'. Those who rarely tire are trying to push their ‘career high’ momentum even further.

Through this 10th mini album [FML], SEVENTEEN is poised to go beyond infinite growth and confirm its true value as a ‘K-pop absolute powerhouse’ that no one can surpass with a more intense and energetic appearance than before.

◆ An album that reveals Seventeen’s confidence… A masterpiece of conversion! 10th mini album [FML]

‘FML’ is a new English word, and is an abbreviation for ‘F*ck My Life’, a slang term used to lament or blame oneself and be pessimistic about one’s life when something bad happens or the situation goes badly.

Rather than being buried in endless negative thoughts in bad situations, Seventeen understands the conflict and wandering of youth from a healthy and positive perspective, saying, 'Instead of being pessimistic and frustrated on our own, let's fight and overcome together without getting tired,' and send a message of comfort and hope to them. presents.

This album includes the double title songs 'F*ck My Life' and 'Son Goku', as well as each unit song 'Fire' (hip-hop team), 'I Don't Understand But I Luv U' (performance) containing Seventeen's colorful colors. A total of 6 songs are included, including 'Dust' (vocal team) and the group song 'April shower'. In particular, album producer Woozi, led by S.Coups, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon, and Dino participated in writing lyrics or composing music to present high-quality music.

◆ SEVENTEEN’s new challenge… First double title song! ‘Son Goku’ & ‘F*ck My Life’

The 10th mini album [FML], which will be the beginning of Seventeen's new story, is an album that reveals their confidence. Accordingly, Seventeen will release two songs as title songs for the first time since their debut. Through the double title song, they plan to once again captivate music fans around the world by presenting different colors of music and unprecedented performances.

The first track and title song of the album, ‘F*ck My Life’, is a song based on an Old School hip-hop rhythm, and the sound realized by adding conflicting codework to the drum sound reinterpreted with analog sensibility is impressive. The lyrics, which pour out direct and honest complaints such as “Such a damn world,” convey the message to those living in a harsh reality that accepting the current situation as is will provide greater comfort and hope than any vague consolation.

Another title song, ‘Son Goku’, unlike ‘F*ck My Life’, is a song characterized by a variety of repeated kick rhythms in the style of an alternative Jersey club with an intense feeling. Inspired by ‘Son Goku’, who upgrades himself through trials and frustrations, the message that compares SEVENTEEN, who is continuously growing ‘career high’ and growing infinitely, to ‘Son Goku’ is powerful.

In particular, the music video, which features a blockbuster 'mega crew performance' full of energy and moving as if it were one body with over 200 dancers, makes viewers unable to take their eyes off it. As a ‘representative K-pop performance leader,’ it will satisfy both the fun of watching and listening with the confidence that only Seventeen can show.

◆ Seventeen’s happiness delivered through endless evolution and spectrum expansion… Positive values [FML]

SEVENTEEN's 10th mini album [FML] conveys the values of happiness and healthy positivity through music that everyone can relate to.

Seventeen, who are constantly evolving and expanding their spectrum like 'Son Goku' who goes beyond the process of pain and the stage of overcoming it and repeating infinite growth, is imbued with a powerful 'power' that everyone can relate to through music that maximizes their strengths. It will be imprinted that it exists.

Seventeen's values of looking far ahead and following their own path, rather than being easily pessimistic and giving up by only looking at what is right in front of them, are clearly revealed.

◆ Tracklist

1. F*ck My Life *TITLE

Composed by WOOZI, BUMZU / Lyrics by WOOZI, BUMZU / Arranged by BUMZU, BuildingOwner

A song based on Old School hip hop rhythm. The sound realized by adding conflicting code work on top of the drum sound reinterpreted with analog sensibility is impressive. Although it is based on a somewhat extreme theme called ‘F*ck My Life’, the lyrics with direct and honest complaints such as “What a fucking world” remain in my ears. They say that they try to reach a better conclusion on their own through ‘resolution’ followed by complaints, and that sometimes feeling and accepting the current state as it is can be more comforting than vague comfort.

2. Son Goku *TITLE

Composed by WOOZI, BUMZU, August Rigo / Lyrics by WOOZI, BUMZU, S.COUPS, Vernon

It is a song with an alternative Jersey club direction, and features a sound that combines the main characteristics of Jersey Club, such as repetition of drum samples, with Afrobeats. By intermittently using various rhythms used in Jersey club, Afrobeat, and drill music within the same BPM, Seventeen, who continues to evolve, is expressed with the same energy as ‘Son Goku’. Inspired by the common characteristics of various characters called ‘Son Goku’ that exist in the world, the part that touches Seventeen was expressed lyrically.

3.Fire

Composed by BUMZU, Wonwoo, Vernon / Lyrics by WOOZI, BUMZU, S.COUPS, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon / Arranged by BUMZU

Seventeen's hip-hop unit song 'Fire' is an impressive song with an Afrobeats-based rhythm and a vocal chop track that imprints the theme of 'Fire'. Genre-wise, it aims for Rap Music. The four members, S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon, expressed the passion and energy of the hip-hop unit from different perspectives, and it is impressive that the lyrics of the four members are unified under one theme.

4. I Don't Understand But I Luv U

Composed by WOOZI, BUMZU, Nmore / Lyrics by WOOZI, BUMZU, Hoshi, Dino / Arranged by BUMZU, Nmore

It is an R&B interpretation of the theme ‘I love you even if we don’t speak the same language’, and is based on a guitar loop with the unique rhythm and sound of R&B and slow jam. In particular, the section where harmony stands out along with the lyrics, “You know, there are things between us that are more important than words” makes us reflect on the emotion of this song.

5. Dust
Composed by WOOZI, BUMZU, Park Ki-tae / Lyrics by WOOZI, BUMZU / Arranged by BUMZU, Park Ki-tae

This song evokes nostalgia with its analog synth and drum sound. Matching the mood of the nostalgic sound, the feeling of reminiscing about a departed person is sublimated in a witty way through verbal play. Now, I am lost in thought as I look at the ‘dust’ that has accumulated on the jacket of someone who is not by my side, and my mind, which is accumulating along with it, complains about ‘something’. When you listen to it, it is a song that builds up heavy memories, unlike the members' singing, which is as light as 'dust'.

6. April shower

Composed by WOOZI, BUMZU, SOFTSERVEBOY, Kareem James / Lyrics by WOOZI, BUMZU, SOFTSERVEBOY, Kareem James

‘April shower’ is a song that started from the expression, “April rain makes May flowers bloom.” This expression is also connected to the Korean proverb, “Pleasure comes at the end of waiting.” Even if the falling rain makes your steps slower, you can get a glimpse of Seventeen's healthy attitude of overcoming even hardships with positivity through the lyrics, which I think are directed for my stage. It is a medium tempo pop song, and the drop section, reminiscent of a rainy scene, is impressive.
