About GFRIEND

GFRIEND is a six-member girl group under Source Music, consisting of Sowon (leader), Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji. They officially debuted in January 2015 with their first EP, Season of Glass, followed by their second mini-album, Flower Bud, in July the same year.

The group gained significant attention when a video of them continuing their performance on a slippery stage, despite multiple falls, went viral. This perseverance helped their title track Me Gustas Tu gain momentum on the charts, eventually climbing to the top. Their success earned them the Female Rookie of the Year Award at the Melon Music Awards in 2015.

Breakthrough Success and Chart-Topping Albums

1. Third Mini-Album: “Running Through Time”
   The title track of their third mini-album quickly climbed to the top of weekly music charts. Building on this success, they released their first full-length album, LOL, in 2016.

2. Awards and Recognitions
   GFRIEND’s achievements in 2016 included:

   • Winning the TOP 10 Award at the Melon Music Awards.
   • Securing the Digital Music Category Main Prize at the Golden Disc Awards.

3. Mini-Albums and Continued Success

   • Their 4th mini-album, THE AWAKENING, and their 5th mini-album, PARALLEL, continued to dominate the charts.
   • They received numerous accolades, such as the Best Female Group Award at the 32nd Golden Disc Awards and the 1theK Performance Award at the 9th Melon Music Awards.

Emotional Evolution: Time for the Moon Night

In April 2018, GFRIEND released their 6th mini-album, Time for the Moon Night. This album conveyed the emotions of longing for a loved one, with the title symbolizing “time for the moon night.”

• The title track, Night, received praise for its emotional depth and grew in popularity weeks after its release, maintaining its position at the top of music charts.

Full-Length Albums and Fan Dedication

1. Second Full-Length Album: Time for Us
   Released in January 2019, Time for Us built on the themes of their 6th mini-album and expressed a girl’s heartfelt emotions during moments of solitude. The title track Sunrise became another chart-topping hit.

2. 7th Mini-Album: Fever Season
   In summer 2019, GFRIEND released Fever Season, showcasing a more passionate and sophisticated style.

   • The title track, Fever, demonstrated their artistic growth.
   • The fan song, Hope, with lyrics written by all the members, captured their heartfelt gratitude to their fans.
