When I first picked up ‘Sweet Home’, I hesitated, assuming it would be just another horror comic relying on clichés. But as the haunting tale unfolded through vivid artistry and poignant narratives, a gripping world revealed itself; one that resonated with real struggles of loss and despair while ingeniously intertwining fantastical horrors. The journey alongside Hyun-Soo—initially battling demons of grief to ultimately confronting physical manifestations of nightmares—is masterfully depicted in these volumes. From intricate illustrations portraying grotesque desires to moments steeped in profound camaraderie amidst chaos, this work transcends mere entertainment—it’s an exploration into resilience amid tragedy.
