The Meaning Behind “PINATA”
A piñata is a traditional decorative figure used in celebrations, especially in Latin America and the United States. In modern culture, it is filled with treats and broken open while blindfolded to reveal its hidden surprises.
Historically, the piñata traces back to the 16th century, where it was associated with Catholic traditions. The first Sunday of Lent was once called ‘Piñata Sunday’, symbolizing faith and devotion. The act of blindly striking a piñata represents the struggle against temptation, while the bursting of the piñata and release of gifts symbolize the rewards of faith.
In A.C.E’s interpretation, the piñata represents a world where negative emotions like sadness and pain are locked away.
