Description
Premium Korean Wooden Tableware Coated with Ottchil (Korean lacquer)
Made with the highest quality domestically sourced wood and refined Ottchil (Korean lacquer), the LEESHIN Yoon (潤) – Pearl Set is a premium 2-person set of wooden spoon and chopstick pairs.
-
Colors: Gold Pearl, Red Pearl
-
Size: 235mm x 45mm
Each piece is handcrafted in Korea using only the finest wood with smooth grain and excellent Ottchil (Korean lacquer) absorption. The surface is repeatedly sanded and coated more than 9 times with Ottchil (Korean lacquer), resulting in a smooth, durable finish free from harmful substances like formaldehyde and lead – which can be found in synthetic coatings.
This set features a sleek and ergonomic design with refined head size, streamlined connection points, and a balanced body shape, all requiring precise craftsmanship due to its minimalist nature.
The deep black color comes from a traditional technique called refined black Ottchil (Korean lacquer), made by mixing purified Ottchil (Korean lacquer) with iron oxide. The Yoon – Pearl edition highlights the natural wood color by sanding the surface and then finishing with a clear, pearl-tinted Ottchil (Korean lacquer) coating. This detailed process takes about 90 days, producing a glossy, strong lacquerware that stands out for its quality and beauty.
Why Choose Ottchil (Korean lacquer)-Coated Utensils?

How to Care for Ottchil (Korean lacquer)-Coated Wooden Utensils:
-
Use a soft sponge or cloth with plenty of foam to gently clean.
-
Do not soak in water for long periods, as wood may deform.
-
Avoid dishwashers and microwaves to prevent warping and damage to the Ottchil (Korean lacquer) coating.
Before You Buy – Please Note:
All LEESHIN Ottchil (Korean lacquer) products are handmade. Size, shape, thickness, color, and grain pattern may vary slightly between pieces.
Small marks, bubbles, or brush strokes are part of the natural crafting process, and the wood grain may not be uniform.
Due to the hand-applied pearl Ottchil (Korean lacquer), some edges may be uneven, and the surface may feel slightly rough—especially in dry weather. However, this smooths out naturally after about a week of use.
These are not defects but unique features of handmade LEESHIN Ottchil (Korean lacquer) products.

At first, I approached this Leeshin premium spoon and chopstick set with caution. Wooden tableware isn’t typically my choice; I’m usually swayed by more modern materials for dining. Yet, as soon as the delicate Pearl design caught my eye—resplendent in its muted elegance—the doubt began to fade away. When using these handcrafted pieces from South Korea’s heritage of artisanship at dinner last night in Toronto, they elevated an ordinary meal into a captivating culinary experience! The touch of finely sanded wood enhanced each bite; it’s refreshing not to worry about harmful chemicals too. Not only are they striking on the eyes but they’re remarkably durable—a commendable find worth every cent.

Dude, you ever tried the LEESHIN set? Total game changer for meals at home. They have this unreal lacquer that gives a beautiful shine and protects against stuff like scratches or spills—perfect if you’re a bit clumsy (guilty!). Each piece feels super comfy in my hand when I’m enjoying some sushi or even slurping noodles! The attention to detail is incredible; I’ve seen nothing quite like it over here. Plus, cleaning them up afterwards isn’t half bad either.

During my recent exploration of traditional Korean dining tools, I stumbled upon the LEESHIN Yoon Spoon & Chopstick Set. Being a culinary enthusiast and someone who cherishes cultural artifacts from various regions, these wooden pieces made me appreciate the meticulous craftsmanship of Korea. The rich sheen from multiple layers of Ottchil speaks volumes about their dedication to quality—a reflection that aligns with our growing desire for eco-friendly kitchenware. Compared to ceramic utensils I’ve often relied on—prone to chipping—the smooth touch and robust nature of this set feel like holding art while preparing a meal in solidarity with family at dinner time.
