Description
The LEESHIN spoon and chopstick set is meticulously handcrafted in Korea using premium domestic hardwood, carefully selected for its fine grain and excellent absorption of Ottchil (Korean lacquer). Each piece is coated and polished through more than nine rounds of Ottchil and water sanding, resulting in a smooth, elegant surface. You can use it with confidence, free from concerns about endocrine disruptors or harmful chemicals.
(Please don’t confuse this with cheaper cashew lacquer, which may contain formaldehyde and lead—both classified as Group 1 carcinogens.)
This model, LEESHIN “Yoon (潤) – Charcoal”, is finished with refined Ottchil, a high-grade lacquer that requires advanced craftsmanship and a lengthy curing process of up to 90 days. While more expensive, it delivers exceptional gloss and durability.
To enhance antibacterial and moisture-control properties, the handle is crafted by blending Ottchil with fine charcoal powder.
Why Choose Ottchil Utensils?
Non-toxic & Safe: Made with natural Ottchil (Korean lacquer), completely free from heavy metals, carcinogens, and hormone-disrupting substances.
Antibacterial: Ottchil-coated items offer 99.9% antibacterial protection, helping to eliminate toxins and inhibit mold and bacterial growth.
Moisture-Resistant: Strengthens wood’s resistance to water and humidity, protecting it from warping or damage.
Gentle & Quiet: Ideal for children and elderly users—lightweight, tooth-friendly, and noise-free for a calm dining experience.
Care Instructions
Always use a soft sponge or cloth with sufficient foam to clean.
Avoid soaking for extended periods, as wood can warp.
Do not use in dishwashers or microwaves, as high heat and moisture may damage the Ottchil coating.
Before You Buy
Each LEESHIN Ottchil piece is 100% handcrafted. Due to this process, slight variations in shape, thickness, color, or wood grain may occur.
Small marks such as brush traces, tiny bubbles, or uneven lacquer spots are part of the natural characteristics of handmade Ottchil items, and not considered defects.
