However, Jeongnyeon’s dreams face a major obstacle: her mother. Viewing the theater troupe as a “den of sin,” her mother confiscates the money Jeongnyeon has painstakingly saved for her journey to Seoul. Furious and heartbroken after a heated argument, Jeongnyeon defies her mother and heads to Seoul. There, she seeks out the prestigious Maeran Female National Drama Troupe, renowned as the finest in the country.
Life in the troupe, however, is not what she imagined. While Jeongnyeon possesses raw talent and ambition, the world of performing arts proves to be a demanding and unfamiliar arena. She is overwhelmed by the skill and dedication of her peers, particularly Heo Yeongseo, a disciplined and talented trainee whose presence forces Jeongnyeon to confront her own naivety. The challenges of communal living, the indifference of her strict mentor, and the unrelenting grind of honing her craft leave Jeongnyeon questioning her path.
